MOSS, MARY:

American authoress; born at Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, Pa., Sept. 24, 1864. Since 1902 she has been a prolific contributor of fiction and essays to the magazines. Her Jewish novel "Julian Meldola" appeared in "Lippincott's Magazine" for March, 1903, and she has contributed sketches on the Yiddish theater to the Philadelphia press. Besides two other novels, "A Sequence in Hearts" and "Fruit Out of Season (ib. Oct., 1902), she has contributed short stories and essays to the "Atlantic Monthly," "McClure's Magazine," "The Bookman," "Ainslee's Magazine," and "Scribner's Magazine."
