ABENTREVI, JOSEPH:

Physician in ordinary to King James I. of Aragon, by whom, in January, 1271 or 1272, Abentrevi was allotted an annual allowance of 500 sueldos (about $12.50, or £2 10s.). The name is probably derived from the Arabic Ibn Tarf.
