American pianist; sister of Maurice Bloomfield; born at Bielitz, Austrian Silesia, July 16, 1866. In 1868 her parents settled in Chicago, Ill., and there she received her first instruction in piano from Bernhard Ziehn and Carl Wolfsohn: At the age of ten she played at a public concert in Chicago, and two years later went to Vienna to study with Leschetizky. At the expiration of five years she returned to the United States, where, from 1883 to 1893, she repeatedly gave recitals, playing with all the leading orchestras throughout the country.

In 1893 Bloomfield-Zeisler made a tour through Europe; and such was her success at Berlin, Leipsic, Frankfort, Vienna, and elsewhere, that she prolonged her stay abroad until 1895. During the season 1895-96 she gave upward of fifty concerts in America, and in 1897 made a tour of the Pacific states. In 1898 she again went abroad, and gave a series of concerts in Great Britain and France. She now (1902) resides at Chicago.
