LEVI-CATELLANI, ENRICO:

Italian lawyer; born at Padua June 12, 1856; educated at the university there. In 1885 he was appointed assistant professor, and in 1890 professor, of international law at the same university. Levi-Catellani is a corresponding member of the Padua Regia Accademia di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti and of the Regio Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, and a member of the Association for the Reform and Codification of International Law, at London, and of the Institut de Droit International. He is the author of the following works: "Le Colonie e la Conferenza di Berlino" (Turin, 1885); "Storia del Diritto Internazionale Privato" (ib. 1895); "Della Riforma agl' Istituti della Cittadinanza e della Naturalizazione," a paper read at the fourth congress of Italian lawyers; "La Dottrina Platonica delle Idee e il Concetto di Società Internazionale," in the Fr. Schupfer Memorial Volume; "Realtà ed Utopie delle Pace" (Turin, 1899); and numerous articles in literary and scientific journals.
