MOSES HA-LEVI ALḲABIẒ:

Prominent rabbi of the first half of the sixteenth century; father of Solomon Alḳabiẓ. About 1530 he officiated as dayyan at Safed. He seems also to have studied the Cabala, since Isaac ibn Shoshan of Safed wrote a cabalistic work for him.
