Moravian rabbi; born about 1628; died at Worms in 1712. In 1663 he was appointed rabbi of a Moravian congregation, and in 1692 dayyan at Nikolsburg, where he officiated for twelve years. In 1704 he was called to Worms, where he remained until his death. He was the author of the following works "Male Raẓon"(Frankfort-on-the-Main, 1710), novellæ to forty-five treatises of the Talmud; "Yerushshat Naftali" (appended to "Male Raẓon"), explanations of the most difficult Tosafot passages in the Talmud; and many unpublished works that relate to the Talmud. Before he died he instructed his sons to study daily two pages of his commentary during the year of mourning. An approbation by him of the ritualistic work "Maginne Ereẓ" was printed in the edition of that work (Dyhernfurth, 1692)
